As developer and co-sponsor of this 100 MWac project near Francistown, Etavi has helped bring a regional merchant-power model to financial close. Tati Solar is now in construction, connecting Botswana’s solar resource with a wider market.

In their joint announcement, Etavi Renewables and ARCH Emerging Markets mark Tati Solar’s move into construction and its role in supplying renewable power to Southern Africa through the Southern African Power Pool.

A new route
to regional power.
The project company is Tati Solar (Pty) Limited. Etavi Renewables is its developer and co-sponsor.
Tati Solar has secured commercial project finance for a merchant model: electricity will be sold into a competitive regional market, with revenue linked to market prices.
RMB acted as sole Initial Mandated Lead Arranger. Its published account explains the project’s SAPP day-ahead market structure and the financing approach behind it.
